Jeffrey Stout's "THE SPIRIT OF DEMOCRACY AND THE RHETORIC OF EXCESS"
I am a Jeffrey Stout fan. Particulary I enjoy how is has carved out
something of a third way between Rawlsian public reason and religious
sectarianism. On his personal website he mentions that he is working
on a new book entitled: "Citizens in the Wilderness".
I am not certain, but I belive his essay "Democracy and the Rhetoric
of Excess" published in the Journal of Religious Ethics in the March
2007 edition offers a sample of what the new book is about. The great
